Chapter Text
It was a blistering hot day in the Central California area, and the mansion-like house's air conditioning system was struggling to push any more cool air through the halls. The smoldering hot sun is shining through the windows, causing the wooden floors to become an instant hazard to anyone who happened to traverse them in their bare feet. It just so happens that Emily was barefoot, and walked through the halls towards the comfortable brown leather couch in the living room. The wooden surface stuck slightly to the bottoms of her bare feet as she took each and every step.
Arriving at the living room, Emily realized that the sun was baking the couch alive from the potent California sunlight. "Oh well," she thought. "I might as well get used to it. I live here, for God's sake."
Placing her medium-sized bare feet up on the coffee table, Emily grabbed a book from the adjacent plastic cubby and begins to read. This was a thriller, a chilling take of desperation and fantasylike creatures in a quest to save humanity as we know it -- the typical genre Emily liked.
The sun shine right through the leaves hanging from the trees, as if they were nonexistent, and even though Emily was moderately close to the air conditioner, the sunlight still overpowered the puny machine.
"Oh, this is pointless," she said, sweat beading down her forehead. She placed the book back in the cubby and wiped the sweat from her head using her hand. Realizing she left her phone in her room, Emily braced herself to stand up -- when a certain sight made her stop. It was her own two feet. Staring right at her in the sunlight, her own bare feet had caught her attention. But why? What was it?
Emily attempted to ignore it, and recalled the day's previous tasks. She woke up at a decent hour, she thought. She loved what she ate for breakfast, a nice, warm Belgian waffle with chocolate chips and whipped cream. She got dressed in a very nice and comfortable outfit, a nice t-shirt and jean shorts, and no socks on her feet… her feet… feet… feet…
"No!" Emily said aloud, without thinking. This distraction wasn't working. She had no idea what was drawing her to her own two bare feet. She didn't know why, either. Was it the look? The smell? The feel of the sun on her feet, perhaps. It wasn't gross, just… soothing, maybe? Emily still wasn't sure.
The sun eventually shines directly onto Emily's feet. And she is wearing sparkly nail polish, so the light is reflected into her eyes. After a moment, she wiggles her toes in order to stop the glare. "Stop doing that! Stop it!" she says, and that's where everything changed.
While keeping the glare at bay, Emily focuses on her toes wiggling. She had never really focused on these movements before. In fact, they were quite soothing. Mesmerizing. Hypnotizing. Her steadily wiggling toes began to relax her. "Stop it! Stop..... st... op...."
She still had an ounce of free will left. This was where Emily predicted that all of this was happening under some sort of messed up hallucination. Did she not get enough sleep? Was this a dream? Was she too tired to think correctly? She wasn't sure, but the thought of her own feet was occupying her mind, and slowly erasing other thoughts within her mind. She tried to pick up her book yet again, but before her eyes the words on the page began to rearrange its letters.
After what seemed to be a matter of seconds, the pages read:
"Feet are an entity of extreme infinite power. The cosmic celestial abilities contained within a set of two human feet is enough to manipulate the fabric of space and time, to manipulate all aspects of life, and to allow the concept of mind control to become a reality. Any two feet have an infinite amount of untamed beauty, but also, within each and every inch of the feet, is encapsulated an infinitely infinite amount of unending power. Each part of the foot controls aspects of life, space, time, reality, and existence in general."
Emily blinked several times, but she just couldn't shake these words off the page. How could she be seeing this? She couldn't have. It was impossible. Yet, she found herself agreeing with every single word. Her mouth involuntarily let these words escape from it: "Feet are an entity of extreme infinite power…the cosmic celestial abilities contained within a set of two human feet is enough to manipulate the fabric of space and time…"
Emily slowly brought her feet towards her face, so that her soles were facing her. It was an entirely new hypnotic sensation that she had never felt before. She felt safe by looking at her soles. They were her guardian, her guiding light.
The bottoms of the feet were what drew Emily in most, specifically the intricate patterns, lines and swirls spread across the soles of her feet as part of her unique footprint. Emily's eyes followed every single line up and down her soles, from toes to heels and back again.
Ten green and purple swirling spirals that all rotated at the same speed appeared on the pads of Emily's toes. The delicately carved lines in Emily's soles began to morph and shift into the same swirling spirals on her toes. Emily's eyes slowly began to reflect those green and purple swirls, with her regular eyes beginning to shrink beforehand. Emily began growing even more tired, as her eyes struggled to remain open while still absorbing every inch of the feet she was admiring in front of her. Her head slowly began to sink, lower and lower, closer and closer to her soles, before her face was completely covered by her soles.
The spirals began to fly, the hypnosis was getting deeper and deeper, Emily was getting more and more lost in her Hypnotic feet. Soon, she was completely entranced, her mind entirely blank, and her thoughts only focused on the feet that were still pressed against her face.
