How to Beat Grym
Use the Hammer In the Middle of the Adamantine Forge
Grym is a boss that appears when forging your first Adamantine gear. Grym is resistant to almost all forms of damage, but becomes vulnerable to damage when standing in lava. There is also a massive hammer in the center of the Adamantine Forge with Grym's name on it.
Preparation for Bringing Down the Hammer
Before you start the encounter by turning the lava wheel, have one character stand by beside the forge lever.
Position another character in the middle to act as bait, preferably one who has Magic Missile or a Scroll of Magic Missile so you won't whiff when taking Grym's aggro. Having Disengage is also helpful to prevent Grym from making an Opportunity Attack.
Magic Missile Effects
Lure Grym to the Center
Any character who attacks Grym will be designated as the Prime Target and chased down. Let your bait take aggro by casting Magic Missile or use a ranged attack on Grym. When Grym is right in the middle, get away from the hammer, using Disengage if available.
Pull the Forge Lever
Have your character standing by pull the forge lever to bring down the hammer and deal massive damage to Grym. This will knock Grym down, but the character who pulled the lever will now be the Prime Target.
You'll need to hit Grym with the hammer twice to beat it, so manage Grym's aggro and position your party accordingly to bring down the hammer again.
Beware of the Magma Mephits
After using the hammer, Magma Mephits will join the fight. Be careful as they explode on death and can disarm you with Heat Metal, so try to kill them off before they get close. If you have an Eldritch Knight in your party, you can use Weapon Bond beforehand.
The Magma Mephits will only spawn once, when you drop the hammer the first time. Subsequent hammer drops will not cause another wave to spawn.
Eldritch Knight Subclass Guide
Use Bludgeoning Damage While Superheated
Grym is virtually resistant to all forms of damage. Grym will only take damage when Superheated, and this happens when it has been standing on lava. When Superheated, Bludgeoning damage is most effective. If you can't manage to get Grym under the hammer, you'll have to slowly whittle away its HP.
Grym starts off Superheated, but will harden eventually when the lava recedes. Turn the lava wheel, the one you used to start the Grym encounter, to bring in more lava.
Grym Location
Found in the Adamantine Forge
Grym can be found in the Adamantine Forge in Grymforge, as soon as you turn the lava wheel. You'll need to fight Grym when forging your first Adamantine item. Don't worry as you won't need to fight Grym every time you forge an Adamantine item.

Grymskull Helm
You can also loot the Grymskull Helm from the remains of Grym. It has a one of the effects of the Adamantine armor, preventing the wearer from being hit with critical hits. It also gives the wearer the ability to use Hunter's Mark and Fire Resistance.
The easiest way to defeat Grym in Baldur's Gate 3 is to lure it to the Crucible platform in the middle before triggering the Forge Hammer by interacting with the Forge Lever. The Forge Hammer will strike the Crucible, dealing immense Bludgeoning damage and knocking Grym Prone.
First, make sure Grym is always wading through the magma and keeping its Superheated condition active. Without Superheated, Grym is immune to all damage. The magma flow shuts off every three rounds or so, so have a character stand next to the valve at all times with an action to spare on turning it.
Grym is the vengeful kind of construct, so he's going to try and attack the last person that hit him. This is important and the key to our strategy for this battle, which is to lure Grym right next to the crucible, but still standing in lava, and then pull the lever to let the hammer crush him.
Reddit user Tawxif_iq shared their own method of defeating Grym using just one attack, and it involves enlarging their bear character to pounce on the opponent from up above. The video clip showed that they were able to deal around 644 damage to Grym, which is quite a feat considering the difficulty of this encounter.
In order to activate it, you need to insert a mould, then add the Mithral ore to the crucible in the center, and finally use the forge lever that activates the massive hammer. This will lower the forge, where you can then activate the valve by the large grate to fill the forge with lava.
Grym is immune to most types of damage, and is resistant to cold, lightning, and force elements. However, you can only deal damage when it's standing in lava. Grym will target and move to the last character that dealt damage to it. Ideally, this has to be a character standing on top of the mold box.
Because there's only two Mithral Ores to get, this means you can only use the Adamantine Forge twice in the whole game, despite the fact there's six various Moulds and potential creations. This means there's a hard choice to be made - pick carefully!
When Grym is standing on lava, it gains a status effect called Superheated. Only when this status effect is active you can damage the golem. This will cause Grym to become Vulnerable to Bludgeoning damage, lower his Armour Class and be Resistant to Thunder, Cold and Force. He will remain Immune to all other elements.

Thanks to the patch, it's tougher than ever to activate the Adamantine Forge quest by defeating Grym. As if Orin the Red wasn't already imposing enough, what with literally wearing the skin of her slain foes and all, she's now built like a tank with her two buffs.
To remove Grym's damage immunity, you need to position him in the lava. Once positioned in the lava, Grym receives a two-turn debuff called Superheated. Once this is done, Grym then becomes resistant to Slashing, Piercing, Cold, Thunder, Acid, and Force.
Go to the Owl Bear. You are going to hit hide. You then going to hit crushing flight, not jump, crushing flight. You're then going to aim behind grim, not on top of him, not in front of him, not in the lava, behind him.
The lever ejects the mold that's currently in the container, you gotta put one in first. Once you've put the mold in, click on the forge (big circular platform in the middle) and put the Mythril in. Then hit the lever for the hammer. That lowers the platform down where you'll find the wheel to spin to let in the lava.
Because it is an alloy made by mixing melted Vibranium and steel together and then set into its permanent mould. It can be destroyed by subjecting it to extremely high temperatures. However, this process only succeeds in blowing the Adamantium to bits as neither Vibranium nor steel can be recovered from this process.
3) You don't need to use the forge hammer to beat him. You just need to weaken his armor and use bludgeoning damage on him. Or specific spells that he's weak to, like Shatter.
Once inside, to the left of the door there will be a pair of levers, one marked 'Brake' Lever and the other marked 'Brake Release' Lever. Pull the one labeled 'Brake' Lever to stop the windmill, or if you're feeling cruel, pull the other one to send the gnome flying across the landscape, killing him in the process.
